Values & Visions
Values and Vision
At Ryecroft Infant School our vision is for all children to be ‘secure, happy and successful’ in all aspects of their school life, enabling them to meet their full potential, develop a love for learning and equip them for their educational future. Through a shared focus on our core values and the creation of positive relationships, we aim to provide an outstanding experience for our children throughout their time with us.
What do we value at Ryecroft?
Resilience – I always keep going.
We foster children’s ability to persevere and celebrate those who rise to meet their challenges across all aspects of their life, academically, personally and socially.
Respect – I value everybody and everything.
We believe in celebration of difference and diversity, building excellent relationships with others including our families and local community. We challenge stereotypes and teach children about important issues such as racism, bullying and equality
Care – I look after my world and the people in it.
We teach children to demonstrate care and consideration for each other and our school, both the fabric of the building and the resources within it. Building on these experiences, we look at demonstrating the same care for all we meet.
Community – I am proud of where I am.
We build children’s pride in where they come from and their backgrounds and heritage. We utilise our locality to support children’s learning and our curriculum. We consider the needs of our whole school community, working closely with our families to enable children to thrive and staff to nurture their wellbeing.
Achievement – I try to be the best I can be.
We celebrate children’s successes educationally and outside of school, looking at all attainment to build confidence and aspiration in our school family to be the best they can be.
Our values are woven through our curriculum and in the ethos and actions of all staff and children within school. We promote them through assemblies and celebrate children’s ability to demonstrate these values in their actions.
Our overarching aims are
- To develop children’s basic skills, raising standards and striving to achieve excellence across all areas of the curriculum.
- To encourage, happy, confident pupils with the ability to question; enquire and be independent in their approach to learning.
- To provide a rich stimulating environment where learners can fulfil their learning potential through a broad, balanced and exciting curriculum.
- To promote the spiritual, moral, cultural and physical development of pupils, nurturing their strengths and talents.
- To work together to create a secure, caring place where learners will develop respect for each other, the community and environment.
