Welcome to Class 6

Hello and welcome to class 6! My name is Mrs Anderson and I’m looking forward to being your teacher this year!

I am married, with a stepdaughter and two dogs. We spend lots of time outdoors, camping and walking many miles each week, especially to wear out my little dog, who is a little bit of a rascal! I take part in different outdoor activities including running and open water swimming which I love to do with my friends each week. I’m always looking for new things to try!

I love my job as a teacher, watching little people learn through play and enjoyment, something I feel incredibly passionate about! I can’t wait for our learning journey to start! I am keen to support each and every one of you and your family in our school community!

I look forward to welcoming you into your first year as an important part of our Ryecroft family.

Mrs Tate

Hi, my name is Mrs Tate. I am a cover supervisor at Ryecroft Infants. I have worked here for 15 years and had the pleasure of getting to know many wonderful families in this close and caring community. I enjoy taking my dog, Pepper for walks around the countryside and eating nice food.

Autumn Term 2

The Early Years plays a crucial part in a child’s development. All of our learning themes throughout the year include many first-hand experiences which help children to understand by doing, seeing and touching.

We have had an exciting start in the Autumn Term where we explored different traditional tales including Goldilocks and The Three Bears and The Three Little Pigs. The learning that took place was amazing and it has been a pleasure to see each and every pupil make progress in their learning!

This term, in the second part of Autumn, we are looking forward to learning all about Dinosaurs! We are very excited to look at different books about dinosaurs, including fiction and non fictionn, and explore different learning opportunities within our indoor and outdoor environments! We will also ask the children to keep their eyes peeled, should we see or hear any visitors who may roar and have rather large footprints! We cant wait to see what the term will entail!

As the term progresses, we will celebrate the childrens first Christmas as part of the Ryecroft family. Details of celebrations and learning will be sent home and we will keep you up to date. Christmas is something we all look forward to, and the grown ups always enjoy this part of the year!

Class information

The Foundation Stage is run as a unit across two classrooms and the outdoor area. Class 6 has a maths focus and weekly maths challenges that the children love to ‘have a go’ at, as well as sand, playdough and other exciting areas.

PE will be every Tuesday. Children should arrive to school in their PE kits on Tuesday’s which include a white t-shirt, black shorts and trainers. Most PE lessons will take place outside, therefore, if the weather is cooler, please send your child to school in jogging bottoms/leggings and a jacket. Children are not allowed to wear jewellery in school in the interests of safety. Earrings (studs only) may be worn if absolutely necessary and these must be removed by the child for all P.E. and games lessons. Please make sure all items of clothing are labelled to avoid any becoming misplaced.

Your child will also need to bring a water bottle and their book-bag every day to keep letters, diaries and books safely inside. Homework will be given out every Friday and should be returned by the following Wednesday.

We look forward to you all joining us.
